After a decade of corporate work, Kim Foley shifted into real estate for two reasons: She wanted to build a business that could leave a legacy, and she wanted to

“I love that every home has a unique story, and making them shine is something I love doing for my clients,” says Foley, who exercises a distinctive “Authentically Atlanta” process with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, the No. 1 real estate brokerage in metro Atlanta. “The range I offer my clients is a combination of what I call ‘Seller-Buyer Brilliant Basics’ to curated services. I listen intently to understand what is important to each client and then create an extremely custom process and package for my sellers.”
Her passion for real, clear communication is edified through consultations with clients to uncover why they are selling, what they hope to achieve in the process, where they want to move next and the timeline from there. Kim and her clients establish a price together and calculate net bottom-line scenarios.
“Once I know their motivators and expectations, that sets the standard for how we’re going to work together,” says Foley. “It’s a collaboration, with no drama. If anything comes up that they aren’t comfortable with, we talk about it. I want to keep that communication open.” That standard includes a pre-listing book showcasing her track record, intimate knowledge of the area, overview of the current market and insight into her marketing plan tailored to accomplish the clients’ goals. Foley calls her clients weekly to discuss feedback, what’s happening online with their listing, the market and strategy adjustments if needed. Her clients appreciate her honesty and open dialogue, which is why many have become lifelong friends who have bought and sold with Foley again and again throughout her career.
Foley’s process works similarly for her buyers, as she maintains a continuous line of communication to find them the right house at the right price. “I view myself as a proactive advisor and knowledgeable broker,” she says. “I work hand-in-hand with my clients to navigate each contract. I want to demonstrate that I always go the extra mile – not only to my buyers and sellers but to the community.”
That’s important to Foley because that community is her home, too. Finding her buyers the home of their dreams or selling a home in a short period of time isn’t her only goal. The emotions felt throughout the process, big or small, allow Foley to develop a rapport that makes clients feel comfortable enough to pick up the phone and call her anytime, even after their working relationship has ended.
“There is nothing better than when we get to the end of the line when the seller is so thrilled, their expectations are surpassed, and they’re happy with the outcome. Of course, for buyers, it’s rewarding when they’ve found their dream home. That’s my biggest joy in this profession!”
Foley spends her time venturing out “with the girls” to favorite spots such as Houston’s, Le Bilboquet and Storico Fresco. She also has supported the Northside Hospital Atlanta’s Women’s Center, Angel House, Atlanta Children’s Shelter and hopes to get involved with Chastain Horse Park’s equine therapy program for children.
